Feng Shui Space Clearing FAQs
Beyond Smoke and Weed

by Bridget Saraka

Spring is upon us and with its arrival many people are doing their spring cleaning and asking about “space clearings.”

You may have heard the phrase “space clearing” and have had questions, comments, and visions of apparitions dancing naked around a roaring fire on a full moon. Well that was then, this is now.

Whether you believe or not, some things can’t be explained. They can only be experienced. My hope is that this article will assist in clarifying some of the confusion around this very powerful, transformational “ceremony.” (Ceremony, meaning to celebrate.) Although, in 2013 we have evolved to be more receptive and open-minded in regards to quantum science and our physical and emotional response to the invisible, today, there is even more confusion with the term “space clearing” as it is becoming entangled with the media explosion of “clutter clearing and hoarding.” From my perspective, these are two very separate things each with their own vibration and root cause. However, clutter and hoarding may be symptoms pointing to the need for space clearing. That is another in-depth conversation and food for a future article, so stay tuned.

Space Clearing is something with which I have successfully assisted many clients in transforming their homes, land/acreages, and businesses, and it is often very much integrated with the client’s personal chi. In many instances, the success of the clearing requires both clearing the personal chi of the occupants of the space as well as the physical environment. We are not separate and therefore there may be an energetic entanglement from one to the other that prevents a successful clearing. Clearing of both is most beneficial. Here’s an example: we all know someone who is working intently on their spiritual growth, aligning mind, body, and spirit, yet in spite of all their efforts they seem “stuck.” To quote Bruce Lipton, author of Biology of Belief: “Our cells are controlled by the conditions of their environment.” As within so without. The mind, body, spirit alignment is powerful, but “Your home is your larger body, it is not dreamless,” to quote Kahil Gibran, another favourite inspiring author. So, go beyond the visible to move through the invisible web that keeps you caught between dreaming and manifesting.

Because spring is a fantastic time to space clear, I think it is a perfect time to clarify the top five questions I have received on this topic:

1. What is Space Clearing?

There are many methods/ceremonies often passed down through cultural traditions that are performed by a person who required apprenticeship, mentorship, training by a master, elder, teacher, clergy, shaman, etc. These individuals, such as myself, clear/transform invisible energetic disturbances either man-made, or not, from a space and/or fabric of time. As noted above, the methods available are as diverse as the practitioners.

2. When is the best time to have a space clearing performed?

  • If you have unwanted guests who do not pay rent, aka ghosts.
  • When purchasing and moving into a new home.
  • Before and after any renovation or build.
  • During and after an illness.
  • After a death or injury in the home.
  • After a divorce or fight.
  • During any major life crisis.
  • During any lifestyle change.
  • After inheriting a home or property.
  • After any accident and/or murder.

On the brighter side

  • To create a place of celebration.
  • To set the stage for new beginnings.
  • To promote optimum health and well-being.
  • Seasonally.

3. Why haven’t the other methods of space clearing I have tried and/or hired someone to implement worked?

I do not claim to be right—the following are answers based on my personal experiences, perspective, opinions, and results.

  • I feel it essential that a space clearing transpire in the highest good of creation and is done from a place of serving in Love.
  • Often, space clearing is approached with some fear and aggression from both the practitioner and client. Both fear and aggression create their own force field and usually nothing good transpires as a result. For me, everything is tied to intention and language.
  • From my perspective, “like attracts like.” Therefore, to approach a space clearing situation with aggression you would receive resistance and very likely set the situation up for failure.
  • It is my observation that sometimes the method of clearing is not in resonance with the “source/energy” being addressed. I have observed situations where angels have been asked to assist in a clearing that was not effective because the energy forms being addressed did not have a belief system in religion, and therefore did not respond as requested. To send such a source/energy to the “light” was unsuccessful as they did not have a belief system to support the practitioner’s method of clearing.
  • In my opinion, it is dangerous to assume we know the best direction in which to command an energy to clear.
  • It is my experience that when serving with Love, the best results for the greatest good of all of creation transpires effortlessly and easily.

4. Why do things/energy return?

  • In my opinion, it is because we humans love our drama. Everything is made of energy and therefore we can recreate the experience with a simple thought. You have the power to call forward that which is asked to leave and in the end unknowingly recreate the experience.
  • This is why clearing the personal chi of clients is paramount in my work, because it clears the root cause and attachments to the drama, karma, and belief systems around such situations.

5. What is the value in a space clearing?

  • A space clearing served in Love of all of creation has the ability to transcend time in creating a tranquil space that enhances your quality of life.
  • Space clearings assist energies that are “caught” here and now to move forward to their Blueprint of Divine Source, whatever that may be, with no judgment of good or bad, good or evil.
  • You will gain the potential to feel lighter, brighter, and full of joy and laughter.
  • You may experience lasting periods of mental clarity.
  • You may be surprised by how much easier you are able to manifest things you only dreamed of in the past.
  • You may find yourself in love with life.
